Succulent & Cactus Care

DSC_0596-2.jpg
  • Water once the soil is dry to the touch and feels like an unused sponge

  • In the winter water less and only enough to prevent shriveling

  • Cacti and Succulents are able to withstand drought better than having wet soil

  • Let soil dry out in between waterings to prevent root rot

  • Succulents prefer at least a few hours of direct sun a day

  • If you notice your succulent is stretching or getting leggy that means it is not receiving enough sun and is reaching for it

  • Be careful with sunny areas that don’t get a lot of air flow as that can cause plants to burn

  • Prefer a well draining potting mix but as long as your soil is rocky enough to drain well cactus mix will work too
